Our real wedding today comes courtesy of Miss Bush bride Zara, who married her husband Ben at the stunning Chateau Rigaud in Pujols, France in May this year, wearing Jesus Peiro 6000. The stunning images at by Yohan Terraza.
The Dress
Zara chose to wear Jesus Peiro 6000 for her day, a halterneck taffeta mikado gown with deep V neckline, a dramatic full structured skirt and bold bow detailing to the waist.
Zara says;
“Corinne suggested that I tried on the 6000 dress as I was up for trying all different styles and as I put it on and walked out in it – it was just – BOOM! I looked elegant, fresh, glamorous and I felt it showed off the best bits of my body! The dress stuck in my mind and my mums, it just did not compare to anything else I tried so it was a sure YES!”
“Miss Bush was definitely the best experience for finding the dress, I never felt rushed and I felt very assured than Corinne was all about finding what was exactly right for me – drawing out what my personality is like to find a good match. It was great to get I my dress for the first time when it had been made for me!”
“It took me a long time to decide on a veil as I wanted to find something that would not over power the dress, I had started by trying satin edged single tier cathedral length veils and it just felt wrong… My mum was browsing the internet like mad for inspiration of what might work – quite late on in the wedding process she saw a picture of a very fresh Pronovias veil – not too heavy and also nice and bright in whiteness – in the picture it was matched with a similar dress to mine – we went to Pronovias and tried it and it just felt like the icing on the cake! On the big day when it all came together I believe the effect was what I was going for!”
“In terms of jewellery I got to borrow my mums sapphire and diamond tennis bracelet. For my earrings I was lucky to receive money from my grandmother with which my parents and I went to a stunning antiques jewellers called ‘Cry for the Moon’ in Guildford. We found the most beautiful pair of Art Deco dainty drop earrings in sapphire and diamond! I was a little bargainous I have to admit with the shoes – I got two pairs from new look – one simple white silk pair for the day and some sparkly strappy Jimmy choo look a likes for the evening. They did the job and were super comfy! For what went under the dress I was given a pretty little Agent Provocateur garter from my maid of honour and for knickers I went to Rigby and Peller literally the day before we set off for France and treated myself on a white lacy pair. To finish the look I sprayed myself with Chanel No5 – I am addicted to its scent!”
About the Day
To complement their beautiful venue, Zara and Ben aimed for a touch of elegant Hollywood glamour for their big day, with a French colour palette of off whites, fresh greens and navy blue as a nod to the Gallic location.
Zara tells us more about the styling for the day;
“Ben and I both live with a lively zest for life and like to make an impact! The whole way through I kept a thread of the class and style of the Audrey Hepburn / Marilyn Monroe era running through – a little Hollywood glamour! Princess Grace of Monaco was also a big style icon for me. Matched with this I wanted to bring a taste of France into the mix – so the colour palate became focused on whites, pale French blue and navy. The feel of the chateau was rustic and chic all in one – it was important to me to keep to a clean freshness to the decor and flowers rather than a vintage or boho look.”
“The church service was stunning… We had put tons of thought into how it would run… Ben’s uncle is a reverend so it was so special to have a member of our family bless our wedding. We had to do our legal but in the UK first which we did privately, we really wanted to feel that the blessing in France was the special occasion and it really did us proud. The architecture of the church is so pretty – the church sits high on a hill looking over vineyard upon vineyard and we were blessed with glorious sunshine. We had a violin and and organist playing the music in the church, our siblings did the readings which they had each chosen and were a surprise to us and we had a violin solo half way through – almost like a mini concert. The confetti throw was with confetti made from my parents rose garden and a Rolls Royce chauffeured us too and from the church… It was dreamy!”
“Also it was amazing to have so many people you know and love around you all at the same time… Best day of our lives!
Final Words
Some final words of wisdom from our bride, Zara;
“When finding your dress try to be open minded, once you think you’ve found the one give yourself time before you buy – having a chance to reflect allows you to know if it sticks in your mind – if it does then it’s definitely the right choice!
“During wedding planning I found doing it in short bursts was good, make your plans when you’ve got some time to think and allow the wedding to evolve and shape up over time.”
