In the run up to Maggie Sottero buying day I bring you Vicky in Kadee and a host of Miss Bush star suppliers. Vicki is at Gate Street Barn near Bramley, photographed by Guy Collier and had Gill Pike on flowers.
Vicki’s petite frame meant that simple lines were going to work best and the Kadee dress has an interior corset but no horizontal lines. The effect is clearly stunning but the stylist trick here is not to break up Vicki’s height and to make sure that we create killer curves rather than iron her flat.
Sometimes when I am conducting an appointment with a tiny size 8 bride I can often feel like a giant and quite unqualified to comment on shapes & silhouettes. However, and it is a glorious problem to have, there is a danger of making a petite figure childlike and too “ah – bless” . Coupled with the possibility of making a beautiful blonde too ‘WAG,’ fit and simplicity are the key elements to nailing the look.
The Kadee dress is beaded lace drifting into soft tulle, curving gently round the figure to prevent the chunkiness of A-line and avoiding the extreme fishtail so beloved of US brides.
The interior of Gate Street Barn with its mellow oak and beamed ceiling has been dresses with simple white roses and Vicki has a touch of neutral colour in her bouquet which shows both the flowers and dress to best effect and compliment Vicki’s honey toned skin and hair.
I love the above frame. The photography is by Guy Collier and I know it seems I fan-girl him somewhat but I always love the combination of mantelpiece photos, relaxed reportage and classic composition and technical skill.
I urge you to look through the gallery, (spot the owls!!!!) and see why couple like Vicki and James love the relaxed rural setting of Gate Street and the easy laid-back feel it gives to a wedding.Vicki and James are are very handsome couple and it would impossible to photograph them badly but the love and fun that comes through the photos is just lovely to see.
