My love affair with the Spanish label Jesus Peiro is of long-standing. Clean, modern, timeless dresses that set standards not trends. Sarah, a Sky News journalist & presenter, was the Royal Correspondent covering the Royal Wedding in the same year as her own wedding. Sarah chose Jesus Peiro silk organza, illusion neck dress before there was a whisper of Kate’s choice. Far less formal but equally gorgeous the light, sheer silk flutters on a perfect summer’s day in the English countryside.
Sarah has, subsequent to her wedding, become the presenter of The Wedding Industry Awards. Damien Bailey, Sarah’s wedding photographer, was the architect of the event and couldn’t have chosen a better ambassador for British bridal wear.
When tiny, beautiful blondes arrive at Miss Bush there is a tendency to suggest minimalist dresses. Like a classic Hitchcock film heroine there is impact in understatement. Some gentle persuasion is often needed as a simple dress often doesn’t look ‘enough’ on the hanger. Corsets, lace, train detail even the weight are all cited as ‘wedding-y’ characteristics.
Studying Sarah is a perfect bridal style lesson. Sarah’s lightweight silk, the gentle un-corsetted fit keeps her free to enjoy the day comfortably whilst maintaining day-long poise.
Whilst we all love lace it also great to see ‘another’ look from Royal Wedding year that remains as on trend as the day it was worn.
