Our blog post today features Sophie and Ben’s beautiful Cripps Barn Wedding. The wedding took place in December last year, with Sophie wearing Sassi Holford Chantelle from Miss Bush.
The Dress
Sassi Holford Chantelle is a romantic off the shoulder gown with lace bodice and full gathered chiffon skirt.
Sophie says;
“My Mum came with me. She sat in silence and just beamed and I knew when I came out of the changing room that I felt totally amazing in that dress and that my mum was thinking the same as me, it was a lovely moment to share with my mum.”
“Walking into the chapel just blew me away at how beautiful it was and seeing all the gorgeous dresses hung up. Emma was wonderful, without her I would not have found the one, she was the one to suggest trying on the Chantelle dress. ”
“My favourite part would be watching Emma do the dress up while I was watching in the mirror and having this feeling inside me of excitement that this is the one I love and the one I want. I still remember so clearly standing there looking at myself in the changing room just before I went out to see my mums face and her reaction just confirmed it was ‘The One'”
To complement the intricate lace and sparkly swarovski belt of the ‘Chantelle’ gown, Sophie accessorised her dress with a stunning cathedral length veil with swarovski embellishments, finished with a delicate and pretty Jenny Packham headdress. With soft, loose hair and minimal make up, Sophie’s look was natural and pretty; the perfect fit for her soft, beautiful wedding dress.
About the Day
Sophie had always dreamed of having a romantic winter wedding, and Cripps Barn in The Cotswolds made the perfect setting to make this dream a reality.
Sophie says;
“I loved the idea of having twinkly lights, candles, open fires and that beautiful warm wintery romance feel. I wanted to get married in a barn, and when I started looking at barns I fell in love with the stone barn look; it was perfect. Cripps Barn was everything I had ever dreamed of in a venue!”
“I did a first look moment with my Dad and its a moment that I will NEVER forget it was one of the most powerful moments I’ve ever shared with him! There is a photo in the gallery that you will see of him holding his hands up to his face and it just says it all! This was one of my best moments along with walking down the aisle and seeing Ben’s face, I could not stop smiling! I’ve never smiled so much in a day.”
“We also had surprise pop up singers that sang ‘All You Need is Love’ after the registrar said you may kiss the bride they popped up, the reaction on peoples faces especially the bridesmaids was amazing – there is another photo of all the bridesmaids laughing and crying which you will see in the gallery.”
“Another special moment was seeing all the beautiful flowers that Paula put together for me – they were the most stunning flowers I had ever seen!!”
Final Words
Some final words of wisdom from our bride Sophie;
“Try all different styles you’ll be surprised. You know when you have found that one – you get a feeling inside that no one can ever describe to you. Never go dress shopping alone!”
