This morning we’re off to Sussex for Charley and Freddie’s beautiful laid back wedding. Their wedding took place at The church of St Marys and St Gabriels in East Harting followed by a beautifully styled marquee reception the gardens of the grooms family home. The images by photographer Marianne Taylor are filled with so much laughter and emotion; you really get a sense of the relaxed, happy feel of the day.
The Dress
Charley wore Savoy by British designer Suzanne Neville, an ivory gown with scooped neck line, satin ruched bodice, full organza skirt and beaded belt. Despite not thinking it would be the dress she would choose, Charley fell in love with this gown, and there were tears all round when she first tried it on!
“I loved how wonderfully friendly the staff were at Miss Bush. Corinne instantly put me at ease and helped me to choose the right dress for me. If it hadn’t of been for her, I wouldn’t have even picked my dress of the rack. Nothing was too much trouble and the setting of the shop (in the chapel) also made it easier to visualize what it would look like on the day.”
Charlie finished her look with some simple crystal earrings from Jenny Packham and a beaded headpiece from Gillian Million, which were the perfect subtle accessories for this breathtaking statement dress.
About the day
Charley and Freddie’s day was very much inspired by the quintessential English country garden, and they achieved this look with a soft elegant colour scheme of pale peach and blues with tons of beautiful English flowers from florist Hannah Berry.
“We had fun creating lots of chalk board signs which we dotted about the marquee. My mother also hand-sewed hundreds of metres of Cath Kidston bunting! We wanted the wedding to be a relaxed informal affair and I was very pleased with how it all turned out!”
“My favourite part of the day had to be the church service! Walking into a room full of your favourite people in the world all beaming up at you, made me feel instantly relaxed. It was the only time in the day where things stood still for a while and we all had great fun belting out the hymns!”

Don’t only try on things you know you will like. Step out of the box and try on something completely different as you never know it might be the perfect dress!
Don’t get stressed, once the big things are sorted, the little things fall into place. On the day you don’t even notice if anything goes wrong so don’t worry too much about the little things not being perfect!
Enjoy every minute, it’s over before you know it!”
