For two months Jayne Dunleavy, of Rainbow Celebrations & I have been pinning furiously to our secret Pinterest board called Anthro-Bush. This working title has been used to describe our love for the American retail giant Anthropologie and their ability to source unique accessories and homewares to sit alongside their fashion offer. The temporary, tongue-in-cheek name has now a proper grown up branding and is called MB Lifestyle.
Over the past year various projects have bought me into contact with artisans, designers & craftspeople across the UK who have added their unique vision to our projects & to little presents and treats for our brides. From Alphabet Bags, to bespoke scented candles; exclusive greeting cards to new branding and design a brilliant team have made Miss Bush look a little more fabulous.
Now this creative team have combined to offer unique gifts, mementos & treasures to help style your wedding, scent your boudoir or tempt the groom. (That would be the handmade garters!) All of these beautiful products have been selected & curated by Jayne & I. The styling is all Jayne’s work, as a recent bride & artist she has zoned the displays to her initial ideas of the sparkle/lace axis of bridal.
What better weekend to launch this than our bridesmaids weekend. This is set to become a quarterly event with Miss Bush brides bringing their ‘teams’ to try on dresses from the complete collections from Alvina Valenta, JLM Occasions, Noir by Lazaro, Kelsey Rose & Twobirds
As it must be clear to by now, if ever there is an event at Miss Bush there must be flowers. One of Miss Bush’s go-to florists Gayle Evans was drafted in to design displays to bring together the colour clash of the shop being filled to the beams with bridesmaids dresses. Spring flowering blossom, bulbs, hellebores & herbs were teamed with fragrant roses to celebrate the riot of diversity across our bridesmaids labels.
Whenever there is something gorgeous to show off I love to meet up with the editorial teams from magazines. Peta Hunt, Editor at Large & Siobhan Warwicker, fashion journalist from You & Your Wedding dropped in to see the latest styles in bridemaids dresses, cooed over the MB Lifestyle edit and were great mentors for our exclusive own label collections that are in development.
If any of you wonderful artisans out there have any products that you think would have Miss Bush brides getting hot under the collar Jayne & I would love to hear from you. Stationers, Sparklers, Hand Crafters, Knitters, Sewers, Painters, Potters – Etsy & Folksy; Simple & Streamlined; Modern & Minimal – show us your wares.
Special thanks to Carey Sheffield, wedding & editorial photographer, for the photography & philosophy in equal measures.
