We’re very excited to share this beautiful wedding with you today! Not only is Emily a fabulous Miss Bush bride, she’s also part of superstar catering company Two Many Cooks, who we’ve worked with on a number of brilliant events.
Emily and Chris met on dating website My Single Friend, and after a 10 month whirlwind romance they were engaged to be married! The ceremony took place at their local church, Christ Church, Brockham Green, which was a short walk away from Emily’s family home where a beautiful marquee awaited for their reception.
THE DRESS
Emily chose ‘Mayfair’ by Suzanne Neville, a stunning contemporary gown in crepe with soft fishtail skirt and fabulous fitted silhouette, finished with an elegant cropped jacket and beautiful bow.
Emily says;
“My mother came to all the fittings – Emma asked what sort of dresses I had thought would suit me. Then of course we ended up with the opposite. When I tried it on, mum and I just went silent, then Emma put a veil on my head and handed me a huge hydrangea and we were just ‘yes, this is it’. and that was it. I didn’t need to go anywhere else. Done.”
“I just loved the fact that I only needed to go to one shop and found it on the first go! And from that point forward, it was just fab coming to the shop and feeling each time like I was getting closer to wearing the most incredible dress I’d ever wear.”
Emily accessorised her look with a cathedral length veil, Jimmy Choos and a dab of Jo Malone perfume. We love that she kept her look simple in keeping with the minimalist clean lines of the dress. As someone who doesn’t really wear jewellery, we really admire that she stuck to her own style on her wedding day and didn’t feel under pressure to add any extra accessories – Emily totally rocked this dress!
About the Day
Emily and Chris didn’t want a theme for their day, and in Emily’s own words, they just wanted a day that represented them as a couple, to marry the man she loves and have a damn good party!
As someone who works within the industry, there was some pressure from Emily to created something with a bit of ‘WOW’ factor, and we think she’s got it spot on and delivered a perfectly styled day that was the perfect combination of classic elegance and relaxed intimacy.
“When there a decision to be made I knew what I wanted as soon as it was asked, not because I had ever had this planned in a million years, I just know what I do and don’t like and it just all came together. I was so thrilled with the outcome and wish I could do it all again…roll on my 40th!!! (not many people say that I’m sure!)”
“Totally cheesy but the whole day was incredible. I loved walking through the marquee before the service, I loved walking down the aisle seeing Chris at the other end (he blubbed) I beamed the whole day and didn’t stop until we fell asleep in the early hours of the next day.”
With the church being only steps from Emily’s family home and the incredible marquee that awaited, Emily, Chris and their wedding party were able to walk from the church to the reception. Led by the newly married couple, the procession was accompanied by The Diamond Boys – we love the sense of celebration and occasion that these images conjure up!
“Other best bits – the dancing, The Diamond Boys, the little bridesmaids, the food (the team totally nailed it), the speeches, the smiles on everyones faces…and the debrief lunch the following day. We had everyone back for round two on the sunday before we went off for a rest! /drank far too much more and ate even more.”
Final Words
Some final words of wedding wisdom from Emily;
“Just enjoy and go with your gut instinct on every decision. You know you and if you’re yourself, you’ll love every second. Don’t try to be someone you’re not as in 15 years time, you don’t want to look back on something and think ‘why did I do that?!'”
