We have a beautiful, frosty winter wedding for you on the blog this morning, which took place in December 2014 at one of Surrey’s most beautiful venues; Clandon Park. This beautiful venue was sadly devastated by fire in Spring last year, so looking back at these stunning by David Weightman of the venue at its most glorious is particularly poignant. There are currently plans to rebuild and restore Clandon Park, if you’d like to read more, click here.
The Dress
Laura chose style 2357 by Tara Keely, an ivory shantung ball gown with cap sleeves and deep V-back, ribbon sash at natural waist, full gathered skirt with sweep train, finished with a beautifully delicate Alencon lace illusion bateau neckline. The moment Laura tried on this dress her heart was set on it, and we can see why; Laura looked stunning in this gown, and the beautiful frosty light from their winter wedding added an extra ethereal quality to her look. We love how she styled her bridal outfit with natural, pretty make up and loose soft waves, and the exquisitely detailed headband made the perfect finishing touch.
“My mother was with me when I found this dress – it was the second dress I tried on. After trying on goodness knows how many other dresses, nothing compared to the Tara Keely dress, it was ‘the one’. Once I’d made my decision I took my grandmother with me to show her the dress on, it bought a tear to her eye, she couldn’t believe how gorgeous it looked! It was just perfect!”
As well as the headband, Laura also added a Links of London silver and pearl bracelet, my grandmother’s engagement ring which was given to me by my grandfather, a waterfall veil, glittery LK Bennett court shoes and a faux fur jacket to keep the cold at bay.
About the Day
Laura and Sam’s day was classic and stylish, including subtle, elegant hints of winter in the flowers and decorations, perfect for a December wedding.
“My favourite part of the day was the ceremony; I felt like I was on Cloud 9. It was very intimate and we had an acoustic guitarist play throughout which created an incredible atmosphere! It was the most beautiful Winter’s day with bright blue skies, a thick layer of frost and glorious sunshine, it made the day rather magical. The readings and songs we chose really represented us.”
Final Words
Laura has one piece of advice for brides-to-be and we couldn’t agree more;
“Enjoy! Keep yourself grounded and remember what it’s really about.”
