Hello! We’re delighted to share a beautiful Surrey wedding on the blog today, featuring a gorgeous classic lace wedding gown by British designer Suzanne Neville.
Chris & Katie were married at Upwaltham Barns in an early September wedding last year.
THE DRESS
Katie wore Suzanne Neville Portrait.
We asked Katie to tell us all about her dress;
“The dress is simply stunning. I would say it’s quite simple and not too fancy which is exactly my style but at the same time glamorous and beautiful.
I felt amazing wearing it, honestly one of the best parts of the day was wearing my dress. It was so comfortable, fitted perfectly and I felt amazing. I’m just sad I can’t wear it all the time.”
“My mum was with me when I found the dress! I think we were both just like, when you know, you know. We went away and then couldn’t stop thinking about it so came back the following day and bought it
My favourite part of the dress shopping experience was the lovely ladies at Miss Bush; they made the whole experience so much fun and stress free. They really listened and understood what we wanted / did not want and were very easy and flexible with all our requests, not that we had too many as the dress was perfect.”
STYLING
Katie accessorised her look with peep toe pumps by Jimmy Choo, switching to some fun gold trainers in the evening.
ABOUT THE DAY
Katie tells us about the inspiration behind her wedding day;
“We wanted our day to be relaxed and relatively informal so that it reflected us. We got married at Upwaltham Barns so there wasn’t really much we needed to do. The staff are amazing and had everything under control down to the tiniest details and the venue is stunning so doesn’t need much dressing up.”
“Upwaltham are beautiful converted barns in the stunning South Downs, so we chose wild, country flowers to complement that.
We had some lanterns put up in the main barn by colour pop occasions.
The amazing and brilliantly talented Steel Strum played in the evening in the courtyard.”
“I have always had a thing for VW’s so my bridesmaids and I were driven to the venue in a vintage VW and later in the day we had VW photo booth. We had a cake made of wheels of cheese as neither of us have a sweet tooth, but we do have a cheese tooth.
We hired some babysitters as we had a lot of guests attending with young children and wanted them to enjoy the day too.
My favourite part of the day was getting married. Everything. The dancing. Having everyone we know and love together for one day. Wearing my dress. I wish I could wear it everyday.”
FINAL WORDS
Some words of wedding planning wisdom from our bride, Katie;
“Wedding planning is time consuming, stressful, and at times very boring but I promise it will all be worth it on the day. There’s no escaping it being the best day of your life :)”
