We have another stunning Jesus Peiro bride for you on the blog today, as we share Katie and Sam’s idyllic traditional English church wedding, which was followed by a rustic countryside reception at the beautiful Hookhouse Farm in Surrey.
THE DRESS
Katie wore Jesus Peiro 6013; a contemporary cotton pique wedding gown with with pleated skirt and a capped sleeve bodice. The gown is finished with a large origami bow at the waist.
Katie tells us more about finding her dress;
“Miss Bush was the first wedding dress shop I visited. I brought my mum and two of my bridesmaids on the visit. I had a Saturday appointment, which was brilliant and i got to try loads of different styles on during my appointment. I had no idea what i wanted when i walked into the shop, but it was clear I had found ‘the one’ as soon as i walked out of the changing room, hands in pockets, and there was silence (with a few tears from mum). I knew that we would be comparing everything else to it, and I wasn’t wrong. It became known as ‘the bow dress’ and I couldn’t stop thinking about it.”
The dress shopping experience at Miss Bush is so special and unique. I loved visiting the chapel and it was so lovely to have it to ourselves and have the freedom to explore all of the styles without feeling pressured. The team are really knowledgeable and have such a good eye to know what will work for you. Corine asked loads of questions about our day to really get a feel for what would work, she picked my dress as a wild card telling me that it would be perfect for a relaxed day and for sitting around on hay bales, and she was right!
I kept my final look really simple, with a plain veil for the ceremony and some glittery Kate Spade charm heels.”
ABOUT THE DAY
Katie and Sam’s day was fun, relaxed and pretty, celebrating the beautiful English countryside. Over to Katie to tell us more;
“I had always dreamed of a traditional English church wedding and we knew we wanted a good party for everyone to get involved in. It was really important to us that we had a relaxed feel on the day and were able to spend time with our loved ones and friends.”
“I found the venue before we were engaged and fell in love with it. Hookhouse farm has such a rustic charm and was the most beautiful backdrop for our day. Carole, the owner, is such a wonderful lady and we immediately knew that we wanted her to be a part of our day. We just had to wait 2 years to get a date in June! The farm gave us the flexibility we wanted to source great quality local food with no fuss. We had hog roast and crepes for our wedding breakfast followed by a pizza van during breaks from the dance floor.”
“If I had to choose a favourite part of our day, it would be the moments Sam and I spent alone with our photographers in tow walking through the fields and chatting about the day and taking it all in. Laura (our photographer) was great at making sure that we spent time together throughout the day. We didn’t really have any staged shoots, which is exactly what we wanted, and it meant that we have got some really natural shots.”
FINAL WORDS
Some words of wisdom for new brides to be about finding their dream dress and wedding planning from our bride, Katie;
“Take your time in the planning and source the things you want but don’t be afraid to ask others for help, especially when it comes to the budget planning as wedding costs can be a minefield, especially if you don’t have a benchmark. Don’t spend time worrying about the small things, or things you cannot control. Most of all, enjoy every moment of the day and make sure you spend some one on one time with your new husband. It will go so quickly so take the time to enjoy it together.”
