You will never see me move as fast as when a box of new samples arrives. The urgency with which I run towards a huge cardboard box with a pair of scissors is comic bordering insane. This even happens with bridesmaids especially when the dresses are from JLM Couture.
I love the JLM team, I love their dresses. I love their cut, colour and fabrics. I love that the dresses are flattering, glamorous. I love that this US label treats bridemaids dresses as stylish individuals. I love the cute short dresses and the long elegant chiffon numbers.
The style below, romantically named 5305 was such a hit with us we ordered it in three sizes and colours.
I am now the proud owner of a size ivory (as pictured,) a size 14 Caribbean (that’s a gorgeous turquoise) and burgundy (in a good way) SRP £250
Also in the box of delights is a short dress with a hint of Vivienne Westwood. I am not mad about the images but the Alvina Valenta 9322 in Charcoal is a great contemporary style dress with masses of wear again potential. My sample is in a (small) 16 as I thought a few curves wouldn’t go amiss in this dress. SRP £220
Noir by Lazaro is a bridemaids label that blurs the boundary between bridesmaids & eveningwear. Perfect for sharp city weddings, black tie or the newly legal evening ceremonies. One could possibly use the ‘V’ word to describe the print fabric. I promise your bffs will love you. Warning – they will look hot. SRP £299
Lastly out of the cardboard treasure chest is another short & sweet Alvina Valenta dress. My sample is violet chiffon in a 14. The colour is like a Snakebite & Black, more berry than Liberty. This is a great style for laid back weddings and fits into the neutrally fabulous category. SRP £235.
