We’re so excited today as this post comes all the way from America! Miss Bush bride Heather and her husband Simon are our first US couple to grace the blog, with these beautiful images by Erin McGinn of their Rhode Island wedding featuring Heather’s stunning Sottero and Midgley Chavelle gown.
The Dress
Heather’s dress choice was the incredibly glamorous ‘Chavelle’ by Sottero and Midgley.
With beaded embroidered lace detailing from the flattering v-neck down to the flared floor length tulle skirt, embellished with tiny sparkling swarovski crystals throughout, Chavelle is a truly elegant gown, perfect for Heather’s elegant vintage inspired look.
Heather says;
“My Auntie Ann had seen me in many dresses. We had even tried similar Sottero and Midgely dresses at Miss Bush. When we specially ordered ‘the one’ it was completely different. I put it on and felt like I was shining. Ann’s face when I walked out to show it told me it was without a doubt, the dress I would be walking down the aisle in.”
“My favourite part of the dress shopping experience was being with my family and friends, and trying many different designers to see what style fit best with my personality.”
Heather accessorised her look with diamond earrings and a diamond tiara, both by Jenny Packham at Miss Bush. She also added a pearl bracelet, and a beautiful diamond necklace that was sent as a gift from Simon on the morning of their wedding. Heather’s stunning Hydrangea bouquet was created by Sayles Livingston Flowers.
The First Look
Another fabulous addition to this wedding was Heather and Simon’s ‘First Look’, a really popular trend over in the US!
It’s a fabulous way for the Bride and Groom to spend a few private moments together before going on to take part in their ceremony and becoming swept up in the excitement of the day, and to capture the emotion and tenderness of the Groom seeing his wife to be for the first time.

About the Day
Heather and Simon were married at Castle Hill Inn in Newport, Rhode Island, a beautiful and historic venue surrounded by stunning scenery.
Vintage glamour set the tone for the day, with a nautical twist to complement the beach side location.
Beautiful blooms were in abundance, with blue hydrangeas gracing the tables in opulent arrangements and in Heather’s stunning bouquet.
Heather says;
“My favourite parts of the day were spending time together in the Garden, after our ‘first look’ and before we said our vows.”
Final Words
Some words of wisdom from our bride, Heather;
“Remember to breathe and try to take it all in; it is such a very special occasion and you will want to treasure the memories for the rest of your life.”
