We’re so excited to share this absolutely stunning wedding with you today! Set in the beautiful backdrop of the walled garden at Old Somerley in Hampshire, with the most impeccable styling, Gayle and Jonathan’s wedding was the picture of elegance and the perfect fit for Gayle’s custom Jesus Peiro wedding dress.
The Dress
Gayle’s custom dress was a combination of two gowns by Jesus Peiro, featuring the simple elegant bodice, deep ‘V’ back, statement bow, and round neckline of 5028 and the structured a-line skirt of 5016.
The result is a super stylish, crisp and minimalist wedding gown, which was exactly what Gayle had envisaged.
Gayle tells us more;
“Emma helped me decide on mixing the top of one Jesus Peiro dress with the skirt of another – I wouldn’t even have considered that was an option until then. I loved the classic neckline, revealing back, statement bow and most of all the forgiving shape that was flattering and comfortable to wear”
“It felt like a gamble as I wouldn’t know exactly what it would look like until it arrived but it was perfect.”
“I found it very hard to find the right dress as I knew I wanted something very simple and classic, and at the time lace was a big trend so that’s what most shops were full of. A friend recommended I go to see Emma at Miss Bush and I am so glad I did! I thought I knew which dress I wanted but when I took my mother to show her the dress she didn’t like it at all which was a big of a shock.”
“Emma really got what I was looking for and helped me decided on mixing the top of one Jesus Peiro dress with the skirt of another dress. As soon as I had it on my mother burst into teams and we instantly agreed it was ‘the one’.”
“My favourite part of the dress shopping experience was going to Miss Bush! I was so disappointed with lots of the shops that I’d been to, and I knew when I went to Miss Bush that that was where I was going to buy my dress. The beautiful setting and amazing brands really sets it apart from other stores.”
Gayle accessorised her look with a head band from Jo Barnes, Sophie Webster shoes, a Vera Wang cathedral length veil, Carat* horseshoe Millennium bracelet, adding a chic gold leather jacket from Biba to keep her warm in the evening.
About the Day
Gayle and Jonathan’s wedding took place in September last year, beginning with the ceremony in the beautiful Ellingham Church in Ringwood.
With stunning floral arches inside and out, and over 100 candles dotted throughout the church the ceremony was incredibly romantic and magical, made even more so by a surprise from Jonathan; the couples dog Hudson making an appearance as ring bearer!
The ceremony was followed by a marquee reception in the Walled Garden at Old Somerley. Gayle tells us more about their plans;
“We wanted the look to be clean and classic, and chose a white colour scheme with touches of navy and gold. Working in fashion I am always thinking about seasons ahead and what’s next, so I wanted our wedding to be classic and timeless.”
“I wasn’t sure what look I wanted but after using Pinterest to gather lots of ideas I found a theme appearing of simple classic pieces with a bit of a New York cocktail wedding feel.”
“It’s so hard to pick a favourite part of the day. I was so nervous about walking into the church that I didn’t expect to enjoy the service as much as I did. Walking into the marquee to everyone cheering was a real highlight and the speeches made me laugh and cry.”
Final Words
Some words of wedding planning advice from our bride, Gayle;
“Do your hair and make-up before trying on dresses, you’re never going to have a ‘wow moment’ if you don’t feel good about yourself.”
Gayle also advises that you “Create a ‘wedding planning’ email address so all quotes, correspondence and information is all saved in one place so you can easily find things.”
