We’re so pleased to share this stunning destination wedding with you today! Francine and Carl were married at the picturesque Castello di Oliveto in Castelfiorentino last September against a beautiful Tuscan backdrop.
The Dress
Francine chose to wear Suzanne Neville Mayfair, which she customised with the addition of the Georgia jacket by Sassi Holford.
Francine tells us more about finding her dress;
“It was all down to Emma’s input, I had a Georgette crepe gown and a silk top, great idea as I had both a day and an evening look, I removed the top after the meal ready to get on the dance floor.
One of my closest friends Ali Head, came with me to find the dress; she had tears which was cute.”
“The whole experience was great to be honest with you. I miss going there, it was such fun!! Unlike other bridal shops, Emma didn’t say every dress I tried on was amazing, as it wasn’t. Emma knew what suited my body shape and whole experience was thoroughly enjoyable from deciding on the dress, the dress fittings and dress collection. A great friendly professional service and team, would recommend Miss Bush to anyone getting married.
I accessorised with a Jenny Packham smokey quartz head band and wrist band, supplied also by Miss Bush.”
About the Day
Francine and Carl’s day was a relaxed, elegant and happy day, taking lots of inspiration from their beautiful Italian surroundings and utilising as many of the local amenities as possible; a true celebration of Tuscan culture.
Francine tells us all about it;
“Since I was young I had it in my head that I would save visiting Italy until I met the person I loved. My husband knew someone who rented a Villa in Tuscany, we went for a long weekend to check out venues and services. When we went to see the venue we knew Italy was the place we wanted to get married.
Tuscany does really speak for itself, stunning scenery, amazing food, delicious wine and old architectural buildings. However we did decide to bring a band from London, Italians don’t get everything right!!
We wanted everything to be local as possible we drank the wine the Castle made, we ate local food, the flowers were grown locally, we hired a local technician for the lighting and sound and our cake was made by Melanie in Florence.”
“My favourite part of the day was walking down the aisle and seeing all my friends and family there. So many people made such an effort to come to Italy, that was really overwhelming.”
Final words
Some wedding planning wisdom from our bride;
“Think about travel time to your venue when choosing your dress, you don’t want it to be creased when walking down the aisle.
Take it all in, there is so much happening, grab some time with your husband every now and then to live in the moment.”
