Annabelle & Gareth were married in February this year at The Conservatory at Painshill Park, Cobham, with Annabelle wearing the beautiful Maggie Sottero Farah wedding gown for their stunning and elegant Art Deco inspired wedding day.
The Dress
Maggie Sottero Farah is a truly beautiful chiffon sheath wedding gown, featuring incredible detailed beading to the neckline and back, with a statement 1920s inspired art deco pattern to the illusion back.
Annabelle tells us all about finding her dream gown;
“My parents and my sister in law came with me to find the dress. My mum cried and said I looked like my grandmother, which really made the dress the one as I was undecided. My dad looked very proud and my sister in law thought it was stunning and made for me.
I loved spending the time with my parents and felt so blessed to have both of them with me during the experience. I know you can never get the wedding planning or day back, but those special moments stay with you forever.”
“The dress was so beautiful, it didn’t need much! I wore a pair of diamond tear drop earrings, a diamond line bracelet and as my something blue, a blue topaz and diamond bracelet. My hair accessory was a bargain from Butler and Wilson, after trying on millions and even going to a customer designer I fell in love with one which cost £45!”
About the day
Gareth proposed to Annabelle during a wonderful surprise weekend break in London, with a romantic stay at the Savoy topped off with a proposal with Annabelle’s grandmother’s engagement ring. Reflecting the Savoy’s elegant 1920’s style, the couple chose to have the Art Deco theme run throughout their wedding.
Annabelle tells us more;
“Our wedding was themed art deco as a homage to the proposal at The Savoy. The colour scheme was black, white and silver and the flowers were avalanche white roses.”
“During the ceremony Gareth’s sister did a reading and my brother read a personalised version of “Everyone’s Free (To Wear Sunscreen)” by Baz Luhrmann, which was a huge hit.
As a surprise to the guests during the wedding breakfast we had hired singing waiters who did an half an hour set with a mixture of opera and show tunes and ended up with a conga! The day was incredible!”
Final words
Some words of wedding planning wisdom from our bride, Annabelle;
“Don’t sweat the small stuff. There will be a bit of drama and something is likely to go wrong on the day, but ultimately as long as you both turn up, say I do, the rest fades into insignificance!”
Suppliers
The awesome Carolanne Armstrong did my hair and make up and the make up of my bridesmaids. She also organised for another beautician to help with the bridesmaids hair.
Will Bremridge did the photography. He is a family friend who has done I’ve hired for work purposes before and trust him to fully put everyone at their ease. We aren’t keen at posing so knew we’d want limited official photographs and far more of the natural pictures. His photographs are stunning and we couldn’t be happier with how they turned out.
The singing waiters and ceremony performers came from the incredible Encore Entertainment who have performed at Kensington Palace and for Princes William and Harry.
Buds and Bloom style the whole day and coordinated the team beautifully. They were amazing!
Our bespoke 4 tier hexagonal wedding cake was designed by Denise at Elizabeth George Cakes.
