Our blog post today comes courtesy of Miss Bush real bride Alexandra, who wore Jesus Peiro 5032 for her gorgeous ‘Wine and Hops’ themed Surrey wedding to husband Guy earlier this year.
The Dress
Alex’s dress choice was Jesus Peiro 5032, a contemporary structured mikado gown, with clean cut deep V-neck and elegant silhouette, finished with a big statement bow to the front.
Alex tells us more;
“The dress was really unusual with the big bow on the front. I found it in a shop in London originally but Emma kindly ordered one in for me to try at Miss Bush so i could compare with a couple of others i really liked there.”
“My sisters and one of my bridesmaids came to the first appointment, they all loved it. My sister said i looked like a present wrapped up with a big bow!! On the second visit my 3 year old niece came along too, she gasped and said ‘Lexy, you look beautiful…'”
“Miss Bush is a gorgeous shop and so unusual so that really made the experience feel special. I also really liked Emma, she was honest but kind and helpful. She didn’t patronise me or overdo the gushy bridal chat which lots of shops do.
I also loved being able to try on all sorts of different dresses, it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity.”
Echoing the simple elegance of her dress, Alex chose to keep her accessories minimal, opting to wear a pair of beautiful drop earrings bought for her by her new husband. Alex kept her hair veil free, styled into a beautiful braid finished with a delicate diamante clip; the perfect look for her relaxed, garden wedding day.
About the Day
Alex and Guy’s wedding took place at a private home in the garden in Goldalming, Surrey, in a stunning marquee amongst beautiful grounds.
Their beer and wine theme was really unique and creative, and the end result looked brilliant – Alex tells us more about the idea behind it;
“Our theme was wine and hops. Guy loves making his own beer and we both love wine. His family are also big wine buffs and drink lots of french wine. So our table names were french wine regions, the table plan was made of hanging wine bottles and the groom and ushers had hops for their pin holes. We also used black boards for all the signs, inspired by pub black boards.”
“I loved all of it, getting ready, walking down the aisle, cutting the cake, dinner and dancing.. Dancing probably the most! It was so beautiful and everything i could have wished for!”
Final Words
Some words of dress shopping and wedding planning advice from our bride, Alex;
“Try on all styles of dress, you will be surprised about what suits you. Don’t assume you want a particular type of dress.
Enjoy it all! Don’t panic or stress, just enjoy it. Its all about you and make the most of that!”
