We’re so excited to share Sarah and Tim’s beautiful Dorset wedding with you today! Sarah and Tim were married in September this year at All Saints Church in Dewlish in Dorset, followed by a fabulous party at Manor Farm Barn. This wedding is packed full of bold happy colour and lots of fun touches – make sure you read to the end of this post to see what Sarah did with her dress at the end of the day!!
The Dress
Sarah’s look was elegant and chic, opting for Suzanne Neville Iris, which she topped with the stunning Mayfair jacket.
Sarah tells us all about finding her dream dress;
“I was with my bridesmaids when I chose the dress. Having tried on a few dresses I knew that Suzanne Neville was the designer for me! She just gets how to make you look good and feel incredible. I wasn’t sure what finding ‘the one’ would feel like but the fact that I couldn’t stop thinking about it and that the girls couldn’t stop texting me about it gave me a good indication that the Suzanne Neville Iris dress was the one.”
“My favourite part of the dress shopping experience was how the Miss Bush team made me feel. The team understands that it’s a big deal choosing a wedding dress and that it’s not a decision that you make on the spot.”
“I visited 3 dress shops in total (two too many) and you quickly realize when you are just a ‘sale’. At Miss Bush I never felt like that. I felt confident that the dress I would choose would be the dress that I loved and one that looked and felt amazing.”
Sarah kept her look minimalist and stylish, accessorising with a cathedral length veil and her signature bold red lip, with her hair swept up in a sleek classic up-do.
About the Day
It was really important to Sarah and Tim that their wedding reflected them as a couple, so they stayed true to their own tastes and style, adding lots of details that made the day really personal.
The couple met when groom Tim was dj-ing at ‘Dusk till Dawn’ in Bournemouth, so they took inspiration from this throughout the day, with a fun and colourful party atmosphere for the reception which included the bride and groom taking to the decks to entertain their guests!
Sarah tells us more about their day;
“We wanted the day to be about everything that represents who we are. For example Tim doesn’t wear shoes…he likes to wear Adidas trainers, therefore Tim and the Ushers wore trainers on the day of the wedding. I love to wear a bold red lipstick so I didn’t hold back on the day… there is no rule to say that you have to wear nude make-up and I wanted to look like me.”
“Our wedding venue and church were also significant to us. We were married at All Saints Church in a village called Dewlish in Dorset where Tim had grown up. When Tim showed me the church I instantly knew that there was no better place for us to get married in front of our closest family and friends. We ate in the village hall and celebrated at Manor Farm Barn – we turned the games room into our very own ‘Dusk till Dawn’ club night.
My favourite part of the day was marrying my best friend and taking our vows.”
Final Words
Some words of wedding planning wisdom from our bride Sarah;
“Be true to who you both are, don’t look at wedding dresses on Instagram and Pinterest once you’ve found your dress and enjoy it – it’s not every day that you get all of your favourite people under one roof. Don’t worry about your dress getting dirty and always jump in the pool!”
Suppliers
Some of the wedding suppliers that helped make Sarah and Tim’s day so special;
Our Photographer was Lucy at Lucy J Toms Photography. Lucy is an amazing photographer with a wealth of experience not only in bridal photography. Lucy really listened to what we wanted from our photographs and captured every emotion from the day perfectly.
Our caterers, The Tickled Pig, were incredible!! www.thetickledpig.co.uk they even have a ‘flying pig’ van that can serve pizzas and bacon rolls in the evening!
My Flowers were by Vicky Barrett – a friend with an incredible talent! Arranging flowers is just a hobby for Vicky which is crazy because she is so amazing at it!! Vicky is also responsible for bringing my vision to life with floating balloons rising from the pool.
My hair and Make-up were by Jo Edwards and Jo Lewis at The Perfect Marriage www.theperfectmarriage.co.uk Jo and Jo were incredible! I showed them a picture of the look that I was after and they nailed it on the first trial! They also did my Bridesmaid’s and Mums hair and make-up.
Everything else was down to us and the help of Tim’s Mum Lindsay, Aunty June and the people of Dewlish village. There is currently no ivy in the gardens of Dewlish as we used it all to decorate the village hall.
Thank you so much Sarah and Tim for sharing your wonderful wedding day with us!
